As part of the Exploratory Round Table Conference (ERTC), a group of international scientists visited the city of Heilbronn on June 23, 2026.
In addition to professional exchanges, the meeting focused primarily on practical insights into current construction and research projects on site.
A key part of the program was a tour of the VISION Lab and the construction site of the future I³ building. The I³ construction site, in particular, offered participants a rare opportunity: during a guided tour, they were able to experience the current progress of construction up close.
During the tour, guests also gained an impression of the building’s future potential uses. The focus was on the planned shared laboratory spaces, which are specifically designed for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative research projects. The tour not only provided an impression of the construction progress but also highlighted the building’s innovative overall concept.
Participants viewed the event as a valuable opportunity to learn about both the current state of development and the long-term prospects for the Heilbronn site. The combination of discussion and firsthand project experience underscored the region’s growing importance as a hub for science and innovation.
