Kick-off for the I³-Lab

On September 10th, the official launch of the I³-Lab in Heilbronn took place with the symbolic handover of the funding check. The project, led by the MOLIT Institute gGmbH, is receiving significant funding of 7.5 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State of Baden-Württemberg, and is also generously supported by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation.

A New Impulse for Medical Innovations

During the ceremonial handover of the funding check, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism, emphasized: “The I³-Lab creates space for new medical innovations to emerge and supports the transfer of research findings into practical application. This strengthens the healthcare location and one of the key industries in Baden-Württemberg.”

State-of-the-Art Research Infrastructure in Heilbronn

The I³-Lab will offer modern laboratory and office facilities across 2,700 m², which will be used by the scientific teams of the MOLIT Institute gGmbH as well as innovative startups and companies. Its close proximity to the SLK Clinic will enable the rapid transfer of research findings into patient care and elevate medical research in the region to a new level.

Heilbronn as a Future Location for Medicine

With this strategic investment, the Heilbronn region is becoming a central hub for medical innovations. In the long term, both patient care and the healthcare industry across the state will benefit from the advancements of the I³-Lab. The project sets new standards for integrating research and clinical practice and fosters the economic development of the life science sector in Baden-Württemberg.
